How Management is Science and Art?

Management integrates both the characteristics of Science and Art.
Science is the systematically organized body of knowledge regarding a particular field. It states fundamental and universal principles that define the concepts underlying it. Systematic experiments and inquiries are made and theories are tested against them. It shows the cause-and-effect relationship.
Whereas, Art is the practical approach and application of both skill and knowledge. These activities are result-oriented and set a time value on them. The management activities involve creativity in their application which is derived from art. Like artists, managers also improve their management activities through practice.
Due to these reasons, we can say management is Science as well as Art.
